Laying the synthetic grass for the school playground
Ecovia Turf undertook a multi-faceted approach to meet the diverse needs of St. Anthony’s School. We started by creating seating areas using B-Grade sandstone blocks, which were arranged to form a unique yarn circle for interactive and engaging outdoor lessons. To enhance the walkways, we removed old, damaged gardens and tree stumps, making the paths safer and more attractive.
Installing the 35mm EcoLife astro turf
Additionally, we eliminated unsafe seating areas around the school and repaired damaged pathways to ensure the safety of the students and staff. It was also a great pleasure to install a large chess board in the senior play area, providing an intellectually stimulating and fun activity for the students.
To manage the various levels and types of surfaces, we implemented extensive site preparation, including bulk excavation and the installation of 180m2 of natural turf and 350m2 of environmentally friendly 35mm EcoLife artificial turf. This created lush, green spaces that are easy to maintain and enjoyable for all users.
This project transformed the school grounds into functional, attractive, and safe spaces for students and staff. Ecovia Turf took great pleasure in creating these areas, enhancing the environment for the entire school community to enjoy.
Scope of works
Bulk excavation of four separate sites.
Supplied and installed 75 B-Grade sandstone blocks to create seating and a yarn circle.
Prepared sites with a total of 90m3 of base materials.
Laid 180m2 of natural turf.
Installed a checkerboard pattern for the chess board.
Installed 350m2 of 35mm EcoLife artificial turf.
