Family Friendly Synthetic Turf Installation Brisbane
Our client Duncan from Wishart, Brisbane, reached out to Ecovia Turf wanting to make his backyard safe and functional for his growing family. With one child already and another on the way, the space needed to be practical, clean and secure.
The existing 15 year old latex turf was mouldy, slippery and unsafe, creating a hazard rather than a play area. The client wanted a complete rebuild that would last long term and stay low maintenance.
Project Overview
This was a full backyard overhaul, removing the existing failed turf and base, rebuilding with new materials, improving drainage and installing 140 m² of Eco Abode 30 mm synthetic grass.

Why Ecovia Turf was the right choice
This artificial turf installation in Brisbane involved a detailed process to ensure durability and longevity.
Our team began by removing the old latex turf and its compacted, waterlogged base. The area was excavated, cleaned, and rebuilt using a free draining sub-base of compacted crusher dust, the foundation for a long lasting surface.
With drainage being a key issue, two new strip drains were installed along the shed and house edge to manage runoff and prevent future pooling.
The Eco Abode 30 mm synthetic turf was then hand carried through narrow access and precisely laid and joined to achieve a seamless finish.

Tight site access: No machinery could be used, so all excavation and installation were completed manually.

Drainage correction: The old base held water; we rebuilt with better grading and installed proper drains.

Safety and usability: The old surface was unsafe for kids; the new one is soft, level, and family friendly.
The entire process turned a slippery, mouldy play space into a safe, functional, and beautiful backyard.
